I had the gracious opportunity to sit down briefly with Latasha Goss creator of "Barefruit" natural products and discussed her inspiration behind starting her own natural product line. Tasha explains:
Latasha: When searching for products to maintain my hair,I began reading the ingredients on the back of those products. I then realized that a lot of the products that stated that they were all natural products actually contained some artificial ingredients and chemicals. The chemical that I consistently seen was one of the most hazardous for your hair and skin,that was the ingredient "Lye". Lye is a chemical that is also used not only in hair products but in skin products as well.
Kendra "K_Lay": For those that don't know,although you might find the chemical Lye in many products,if exposed or utilized wrong can be hazardous to your skin and hair. Latasha: I began reading and learning about natural ingredients because I wanted the best for my hair. I wanted to learn the strengths and weakness, the healthy and the unhealthy,the do's and the don'ts.
Once gaining the knowledge, Tasha began creating,mixing,and testing. Self-tested at first and then once discovering the success of the products,she was no longer just the creator but a self-client which later grossed into satisfied customers and client base.
